Video Lounge: Expiação 2006

“This is the law for the sin-offering: the sin-offering is to be put to death before the Lord in the same place as the burned offering; it is most holy. The priest by whom it is offered for sin, is to take it for his food in a holy place, in the open space of the Tent of meeting. Anyone touching the flesh of it will be holy” Leviticus 6: 25, 26, 27

Religion has taught me to know my faults and sins, but also to know the path to absolution. I place myself between three bodies that are close to me, I give myself to them so that they weigh and judge me. They know that it is for me to comply with precision and will to every step of the liturgy, thus taking the path of my expiation.

The Liturgy

Part 1

I evoke my body – With fresh blood and ancient dust I knead my heart.

Part 2

I give my heart to be eaten – they weigh me, I hope not to be found in the wrong.

Part 3

The Judgement – The triangle closes, the decision was made.
