Alas, we have just discovered the downside of all this loveliness: we never intended to let the wheat go to seed (and to therefore get flour from it) -- and although our friend got lots of the seed when he took his combine through, he didn't get it all -- and so now the wheat has reseeded itself. What was a beneficial cover crop during the winter and early spring has turned into a weed -- one that's going to out-compete our crops if we don't deal with it soon. Oy.
