three little kittens...

now i've broken 3 of my rules:
1) no ubiquitous macro flower shots
2) no adorable pictures of child relatives
3) absolutely no heart-tugging shots of kittens or puppies

this little kitten is in waglisla...

beau will be the most missed...

now in vancouver....an aristocat i am.

lost at Martin's...

out in the woods, after a long bushwhack around Martin's Lake, i heard a faint mewing...after meowing back and forth in a cat-like game of marco polo, a wee head appeared in the salmonberry bushes...then a second...then a third.

domestic cats, dumped at the lake, are too much for my empathetic sensibilities to bear, so my friend and i scooped them up in backpack and sweater and packed'em home.

been with me for a week, but they're heading out on wednesday, thanks to Big Heart Animal Rescue! took in 2 abandoned kittens last year, on separate occasions, one terribly small and found scuffling about in a fire pit...something's got to change...

this pic captures the feeling of your story - souls that have been lost and uncared for, basking in the warmth of an unfamiliar but fuzzy shelter. cats usually move so quickly, it's great how you got them all looking into the camera eye.

A few years back my da's girlfriend took home a cat that she found in a garbage bag at the dump. It had been badly burned so it had no pads left on its feet and all the fur on its body was gone, but it grew into the most amazing cat with a shock of pure white fur. She called it Phoenix. Sigh.
