San Francisco welcomes the New Year with a stellar fireworks show high above California's stunningly beautiful, San Francisco skyline as seen from Yerba Buena Island (connected to Treasure Island). Previous nights had been fogged in and there was some fear that the New Years Eve festivities would be socked in but as it turned out we were treated to stunning clear skies above the City By The Bay. 2011 was a great year for us as we look forward to 2012.

December 31st, 2012 this image has once again become my top image so I thought I'd take a moment to wish everyone a Happy New Year for 2013, have fun and be safe.

From where we were it looked nothing like this… it seemed the fireworks were very far away comparably and low in the sky below the tops of the sky scrapers. You chose the right spot to shoot from my friend. It turned out most excellently!

Darvin, Lynneal and you hit the BEST SPOT for this shot! What a beautiful capture you got with the San Francisco bridge framing it on the left, the fireworks in the middle, and those lit up buildings off to the right. You must feel very pleased with this!! Great comp you got here. I saw some lights on the hill and debated doing the climb to where you were, but then I received a phone call from Matt who convinced me to put the bridge between the camera and the fireworks. :)

This is nicely done. I think the difficult part of these fireworks shots is getting a good exposure on the background without blowing out the fireworks. Great balance here.
