I often forget that there is another, less popular but just as interesting
angle on the Golden Gate Bridge but thought to try it out this day and as
usual the bridge didn't disappoint. First we were treated to a large flock
of pelicans diving for fish just a few feed from the jetty. Just as the
sun set, the bridge lights came on and I was treated to great reflections.
It was hard to choose a shot to post.
To get to this location you need to exit on the Sausalito side of the
bridge and head down to Ft. Baker. I used an ND filter to slow down the
exposure to soften the fog and bring out the reflections. It also helped
to hide the blur of the pelicans which continued to fly and dive long after
it was quite dark. A side show of sea lions playing games with the
fishermen and stealing their bait made for an amusing side show as I clicked
off the shots.
