My Love List

I love waking up in a cold room, wrapped in the softness of 4 blankets. I love being able to take my time and get ready for the day at my own pace. I love eating ice pops on the way to the El, since I figured that by doing so, I won't sweat. I love photo-booth pictures, especially when they make you look tan. I love soft serve ice cream. My favorite is peanut butter soft serve, dipped in chocolate. I love french fries with salt & ketchup, not dipped in milkshakes or Frosties. I love warm chai tea. I love drinking 40's and sitting on stoops. I love being on the beach, in a low chair with my toes dug deep in the sand. I love bear hugs. I love waving at strangers when I'm far away from home. I love DVR and not having to worry about missing my favorite shows. I love my stubby toes. I love my nails, especially when they're manicured. I love my eyebrows. I love my sense of humor. I love the clouds before a storm, the smell of the rain and the color of the sky after the rainfall. I love driving and singing at the top of my lungs. I love being alone. I love people watching. I love writing a grocery list and being organized, just to forget the list once I've made it to the store. I love to hang pictures since I just learned how to. I love old photographs. I love really old photographs and the way they can be digitally enhanced to look good as new. I love covering my refrigerator. I love filling my apartment with things that make me happy. I love movies or shows that make me laugh. I love the way food looks when the waitress presents it. I love feeling good about recycling. I love looking at catalogs and circling thing's that I don't need, but make me happy. I love gifts. I love mail. I love wandering around Target or Ikea and picturing in my head how my life will look one day. I love clothes that fit. I love shoes that I can comfortably walk in. I love scarves, all scarves, any kinds of scarves. I love hearing compliments after purchasing new glasses. I love blushing because a cute boy smiled at me. I love rainy Sunday's with nothing to do. I love uploading photographs after a long day of shooting and reliving everything I did that day. i love baking cupcakes. I especially love to decorate them. I love how strong I am. I love that I lived through heartbreaks and I was able to learn from them, honestly. I love the warmth and affection that only a dog can give. I love watermelon margaritas. I love to spend money that I don't have. I love new plants. I love fun toys and surrounding myself with items that make me feel like a kid. I love new haircuts. I love finding the perfect purse. i love how healthy I feel after a great workout. I love finding the beauty in the small, unnoticed places of everyday life. I love finding the good in people, and meeting ones that change my life. I love who I'm growing up to be.


*I challenge you to make your own list. The only catch? You can't include a single person you know on your list. No "I love the way my husband laughs" or "I love hearing my little girl call for me." It'll be tough, I know. But this particular little exercise is about stripping away everyone who defines you and figuring out what you (not his partner; not their mother/daughter/sister/friend) love.
