Since its foundation, in June, 2008, the Lions Club Nova Geração (New Generation) in Brazil has developed recreational activities for needy children among other activities.
Over 500 children have benefited from them. These needy children are
assisted by some entities or other Lions Clubs in our city.
Leisure days are promoted in amusement parks or at institutes that support the children. Not only do we give out snacks and toys, but we offer those children, above all, an opportunity for socialization, showing that people from our community care about their well-being.
Private school students aged 15 to 17 also take part in this project. They contribute with the donation of toys. The work is aimed at offering these teenagers the opportunity to develop and contribute as committed members of our local community, as well as to stand out from ordinary people as they develop personal traits and get recognition for their work, besides, of course, marketing Lions International among teens, gathering then more Lions to our movement.
All our 29 members are involved. Other people are also invited to get to know our activities and possibly, in a near future, engage in our Club, what has been confirmed by the gathering of 5 new members lately.
We take Lions Club as an entity for service and social promotion and believe no job is hard if you share small tasks.
Our Move to Grow is based on believing that what matters is not where you start from, but the whole way we have ahead and, like a Ginkgo tree, strengthen our roots in our first years, with lions aged 29 on average, so that in a near future, we can grow even bigger.
