The Dish VIP722 DVR is the company's top of the line set-top (or closet) box. It's what we have at our home in Santa Barbara. And, as I suspected, Dish confirmed that it runs on Linux. It has two tuners, records up to 55 hours of HD video, watches 3 satellites at once (at least at my house), and does a great job of receiving over-the-air signals. In our case in Santa Barbara, those come from 220 miles away, over the ocean, from San Diego and Tijuana
