I got one, too! Not quite so large, but still very, very sharp. (18 months, no interest. Yay!) Fascinating to watch! I also bought a blu-ray player, but haven't watched any actual blu-ray disks on it yet. Ah, irony! Still, between the blu-ray player and the TV, my old disks look mahvelous!

I have purchased season 1 of Damages, but haven't had time to watch it yet. And I'm recording season 2...but not watching it. I'll catch up eventually. It's no Lost, I'm sure, but I presume it's worth it.

I think you'll like Damages! Michael got me hooked, and now it's definitely one of those shows I look forward to each week.

I got my blu-ray at WalMart for $250 -- a Samsung. Since I've never hooked up a different dvd player to my new tv, I have no idea if it the difference is the tv or the blu-ray player, but I'm astonished at how good non-blu ray disks look, including those I'm burning on my DVR, which is hooked up elsewhere.

Downside to blu-ray disks: they can only be played on a blu-ray player. I started to buy Frozen River on blu-ray, but then I realized that I might want to use it in class this semester, so I had to order it "regular."
