Here's an example of some reticello (a particular technique in blown glass), from a guy I sort of know, Aaron Tate, at the Seattle Glassblowing Studio. I think this is an amazingly cool technique, and I was inspired to go take this picture (and several others like it) by the Pattern challenge on dpchallenge.
All those little bubbles are just too cool for words. :-)
Technical FYIs: the exposure was two minutes (as timed by my TC-80N3 timer/remote), and the primary illumination was by a mini-mag flashlight -- the lights in the room were at an angle I didn't like, so I blocked them out a bit, and did the flashlight thing; cropping and some color/level editing (with primary intention of increasing contrast) was then done in iPhoto (which does some things nicely, and other things poorly... alas); otherwise pretty much as-shot.
