It's an interesting sign, does look rather weathered, but I think it's hand-painted character makes it particularly appealing (to me at least).

Wayne - I seem to have that problem frequently. It's a real shame about the condition.

David - Not many good old hand painted signs about these days, all mass produced (brewery bulk order) high gloss jobs lacking lacking real character.

Thanks for taking a look and comments, Bill, appreciated. The pub, at one time called "The Angel", is one of the oldest surviving ones in Lincoln dating back over 300 years. Interesting that a bible theme was kept on the name change.
