The little Anglican parish church at South Elkington was built in 1843 and subsequently underwent alteration and repair under J. W. Fowler's guidance 1871-3. Whilst I have no details of the earlier church it dated back a considerable time as it is known that Robert of Ormsby, steward of William of Percy, gave to the nuns of the churches of South Elkington and Little Grimsby, pasturage for sixty sheep in the mid 12th century.
