Rochester Cathedral

Rochester Cathedral by Vicky Lamburn.
Rochester Cathedral - During a Sunday Service
View On Black

This is part of the wider set of about 500 photos from my 160 mile North Downs Way jaunt in June 2009 - a fantastic walking holiday out in the mostly wilds of Surrey and Kent...

Leica M2, Voigtlander Ultron 35mm, Fuji Superia 800 Xtra - a superb high speed colour negative film

I thought I recognised it! Not that I'm a great connoisseur of cathedrals, it's just that we were there last year. There are some gorgeous tones in your image!!

Here's one of mine...

Thanks Geoff. Me neither re: the cathedrals, it just so happened that Rochester was my first day off walking (I had walked from Farnham starting on Monday and got to Rochester by Saturday afternoon - rock on!) so on the Sunday I did the usual tourist things of the cathedral and castle (I didn't go inside the castle mind, wasn't so bothered about that.)

It was pleasant enough but I have my own views on the Medway towns and indeed Rochester within the context of that I'm keeping to myself in case I offend! :) It was nice though, I'm just glad the camera shop on the high street was closed, it could have cost me dearly if it was open!

Yep :) 13 rolls of KR64 and 1 Superia 800, 1 Superia 1600.

Give Superia 800 a go at least, it's superb stuff.

Beautiful warm tones. There seems to be a lot of light.
ISO 800? Terrific result.

Yep ISO 800, it's amazing how good some fast colour print film is these days. Sure it's not a Nikon D700 or something but how much wall space does the average person have to keep on printing 16x12s? 8x10s are very decent in this film, it surprised me.
