The Warrior Awaits

The Warrior Awaits

When it comes to being a photographer's model, this particular warrior awaits to be done. Nevertheless, he indulged his mother and I to get this silhouette shot, which his mother requested as a companion to Lauren's silhouette.

Strobist:
SB800 in an umbrella behind white paper background. Speedlight was fired by Nikon CLS using pop-up in Commander mode (no flash).

No post processing editing was completed on this photo other than cropping.

Round and Round She Goes

Round and Round She Goes

Let me admit and apologize from the start that this submission is a few days late. It is from Get Pushed group, Round 14.

My pusher, Lee Shelly, an extremely talented and diverse photographer issued the following challenge:

Seems you've done a little action...and a little panning...and some flash...now combine the 3. Drag the Shutter. Use rear curtain flash & sloooooooow shutter speeds (usually 1/30 or less but it can be as fast as 1/6 if the subject is moving very fast)) to show motion while keeping your subject sharp. It works well at night with almost any subject.

This push turned out to be extremely difficult for me. I simply could not get my subject very sharp at all. I'm sure a tripod would have helped but it wasn't practical in this particular setting.

This shot was taken at the Speedway in Lights Childrens Charity that is hosted at the Bristol Motor Speedway each year. In the infield, they setup a mini-fairground, known as the Christmas Village.
