my c25k training running mix

my c25k training running mix by lil 1/2 pint.
i tried to find all hip-hop songs at first but i got tired of them quickly and they didn't motivate me to run. i've discovered i run best to trance.

Have you checked out the Podrunner podcasts?
www.djsteveboy.com/podrunner.html

There's a particularly good one at 163bpm that's mostly trance. It's the Sept. 14th one; I used it quite a bit!

(oooh, thank you so much for the recommendation, i'll check it out.

i have heard of the podcasts but the ones i had checked out [not sure if it was that site or another one?] were all mp4 and my mp3 player is really, really old and can only play mp3's.)

These are mp3, so you should be good to go. :-) Dunno if your player can do podcasts, but you download them individually, anyway!

(ooh, okay. i'll definitely check it out. after my 5k this sunday, i want to focus on speed. i'm running consistent 15 minute miles no matter what. heh. like i'll think i sped up on my last mile but noooo.)

Careful, though; speed kills newbies! :-) The most consistent advice given at the CoolRunning forums is that you shouldn't look at speed during the first year; if you want to go faster, first work on lengthening your distance. Over time, speed will come if you do that. :-) Have you looked into One-Hour Runner?

(you know what i've heard a lot of people talk about the one-hour runner and it definitely sounds interesting but i haven't really looked into it. i was just focusing on my 5k - which is finally here. i can't believe i'm really going to do a 5k this weekend. ::smiles::

i was thinking of re-starting the whole c25k after this because my friend really wants to do a 5k so i figured i'd start from scratch with her and see if that will help my speed because i'm only 4' 10.5" so 'slow' for most people is already 'faster' for me, you know? my legs are so short!)

Congrats on your first! I did my first back in July, a spur of the moment thing (I was only on Week 7, but I was visiting my parents and there was a 5K going on, so I signed up and went for it!). It's such a rush! Careful to line up near the back of the pack; it feels better to pass people as you can than to be trampled by the herd. ;-)

I'm slow, too, but just by working on my endurance, pushing it from 3 up to almost 5 miles at a stretch, I've gone from a 15 min. mile to a 12. I may never be super-fast, but I'm improving! My new goal is to get a sub-35 minute 5K time.

(that's great. you give me so much hope. i ran a 13 minute mile once because i ran with my kickboxing instructor and he's in good shape/taller than me but i had a total asthma attack afterwards. i need to build it up gradually like you did.

may i friend on you flickr?)

BTW, my son has asthma, exercise-induced, and although he wants to run with me, I worry that it'll give him an attack. :-/

(yeay! a new friend! i love love love sparkpeople. ::grins::

yeah, in high school i had a lot of problems with asthma when i'd run the mile. of course, i never realized it was asthma because it only happened when i'd run the mile. it's not bad, though, i don't feel like i'm suffocating. i just cough like crazy.)

That's my Sam. He got diagnosed when he was three, because every time he'd start doing physical stuff, he sounded like he had TB. :-/ Cough, cough, cough...
