"Karearea" (NZ Falcon)
The Karearea is, like many birds of prey, an endangered species. Capable of bringing down prey 6 time heavier then themselves, top speed 230 kph (!) and can sustain 17G - and having seen them turn quickly one can believe it.

Pure Coromandel
On the Karangahake Gorge Historic Walkway alongside the sparkling Ohinemuri River.The gold trails in the spectacular Waitawheta Gorge started here in 1870 - i must explore the old gold miners buildings like the crusher and pump house...next time anyway..
