QE2 Heading down the Clyde, on her 40th Birthday

I think this is my photo of the day. QE2 is picking up speed, and has lost the smaller craft. Its about to get dark, the passengers have all gone in to their dinner and the sky turns pink. Taken with ISO-800 and I'm amazed it came out at all, let alone well. It was nearly dark and everything was moving.

The portholes are lighting up - the random scattering of pin-prick lights across the dark hull, something you will never see again on a modern ship and something that all liners before her had.

Taken from MV Balmoral. Video of this at www.youtube.com/roblightbody

The fastest, most famous, most successful, furthest travelled ship of all time - The Magnificent Ocean Liner QE2.
