Yesterday I got my long awaited first ever shot roll of Ilford black and white film back from the commercial lab in Toronto. It took about two and a half weeks of patiently waiting. This is the reason why I wanted to do this project this year! I'm really excited by the results, and amazed by the textures and sensitivity to light there seems to be with Black and White film. I have spent all these years on flickr conscious of the imperfections of my fujifilm. Now, finally some shots on film - laid bare and unashamed - all the scratches and grains on display without any trepidation. Hehe! This is the exact raw image right from the beginning of my roll featuring Spadina Subway Station in Toronto, and was shot with a one second exposure.

This year I'm starting a brand new project. Each week on Sunday I'll be posting a black and white image. This will be my sole obsession for the year, and hopefully there will be some entries that add something different to my photostream. (This is the closest i can get to a 365 with a film camera. lol) So here we go.............
