In May of 1954 this Unit would become the 1st TDS which had 8 Detachments at one time. The MK-5 was carried by the B-45 Tornado, Americas 1st Jet bomber, almost forgotten today. It is omitted from being carried by the B-45 in some sources, but having been there, this is the fact. Later, SAC Units would carry bombs in England, but this was a TAC Unit.
