mr. imagination's bottlecaps (149)

mr. imagination's bottlecaps (149) by stinkymcgee!.
The recently re-opened Museum of American Art in Washington, DC was the destination for our impromptu day trip today. They let you take pictures through most of the exhibits, and have a lot of awesome stuff, thus a ton of fodder for photographs. I've discovered a new favorite artist in William Christenberry, his stuff totally blew my socks off and gave me lots of ideas for new photographs. (His show was a no-photos allowed area, so you get something bright and colorful and non-related from me instead.)

This is #149 in my project 365 series.

Nat, part of what I love about Christenberry is that he finds a way to really connect with the bad and the good of his southern (US) roots into his work. Oh, and he loves old abandoned falling apart rural stuff :-)

This particular piece is by a guy who calls himself Mr. Imagination and is a close-up of a girl made from bottle caps.

Great photo, I love the detail. It's very visually interesting. Also, I think I'm going to start a project like this as an excuse to drink more beer. "No honey, it's not for me...it's for the PROJECT"

That museum sounds really neat.
