I think you are right. Could be a 'round dance' at a square dance. The guy in the back is sweaty because he has just danced for a while - he didn't come that way.

Interesting series; I wonder why the pinkish hue of these photos from Oklahoma during this time? I'm suspecting that perhaps the roll of film (if it was medium format or 35mm) may have been subjected to heat, which can definately affect the color of the film.
