Oh, lovely!! Did you really take that on Feb. 10?? We're buried under snow that probably won't go away till April.

Yes!!! I was shocked to find these three flowers actually blooming. They are on a south-facing slope, with no trees around to cast any shade, so I think that definitely worked to their benefit. It made my day to find them.

Blue-eyed grass (Sisynchrium species) is one of the first to bloom, but holy cow this is early!

I read that neat fact in my Plants of the Pacific Northwest Coast. It was a real surprise to find them in full bloom! They were the only ones, but it means the rest won't be far behind. I'm going to visit the island a lot to catch all the various flowers this year.
Of course...it has nothing to do with "global warming" I'm sure. We both know that's a big hoax. Imhoff says so.
