Self Portrait - Softbox Rim Backlight

Always a huge job to take portraits of yourself. After many dozens of them, here's the one I like best.

    Strobist info:

Key: SB80DX with small Softbox (30cmx20cm) above camera, in "buterfly" position. Zoomed to 24mm and @ 1/16 power.

Rim light (face left and shoulders): SB800 with 2 flags/gobos in vertical position. Behind subject, right side, a little bit above subject's head, aimed diagonally. Zoomed to 50mm and @ 1/16 power.

Background light: SB26 geled with Cerulean Blue (Strobist gels kit) and with homemade snoot of black foam paper, in a cone-like form. Behind subject/chair, aimed diagonally up in the wall. Background was a very dark blue piece of cloth, glued to the wall with gaffer's tape.

UPDATE: after seing this on another monitor, I realized the skin is a little blown out. I should calibrate my MacBook's LCD real soon.

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called Managed Light - Strobes and Flashes, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

Nice job on the lighting. I like the backlight you've got.

      Thanks, Million.

I took several shots to setup this, given I had no assistant :)

After all that work I'm very happy with the results!
