Actual Bright Angel trail!

Very Nice! I would love to be taking in the view from right here!

I love how the clouds make the atmosphere look all misty...lol!

i wish i had the guts to stand here!

Visible here are several of the main features within the Canyon itself--Isis Temple, Shiva Temple, Temple of Osiris, and Temple of Ra are visible, and that little trickle of water in the lower right is the Colorado River--300 feet (90 m) wide. The path across the plateau in the lower third is the spur to Plateau Point. Image made at Mather Point (7120 ft, 2170m). Thanks for the Plateau Point correction, spineapple!

The trail that you mention in your picture is the spur trail to Plateau Point not the Bright Angel Trail. The Bright Angel trail actually reaches the river about where you can see the river in your picture. The note I put in shows where you can see the actual Bright Angel trail.

John: My HDR are typically auto-bracketed with ±2 exposures for shadow and highlight detail, respectively. This HDR is comprised of two shots, one stop apart.

Thank you for all the positive feedback, everyone! My next one will be from the East Rim, shortly before my last images from the Grand Canyon, which are from the North Rim. Included in those will be lighting striking the South Rim as seen from the North Rim. It's pretty cool!

This made Explore, LLR? According to Flickr it got up to the high-300s, no where near the Explore page (top 20).
