I found these broken, entangled, weathered trees along the shore of the Wisconsin River, east of Necedah. The sun reflecting off the river in the background made for interesting, mostly-diffused lighting. The great dynamic range lent itself well to HDR.
This is enjoyed best at larger sizes.
Try it on black.
Turns out this was a once-in-a-lifetime shot, as I went back recently (early April) and the river has risen a couple feet, covering all but the very tops of these trees.
