Some cakes are made to represent the couple and their interests. One
couple came for a consultation who wanted something so unique that I
had to make it up as a dummy cake to know if it could be done (and
which was the best way to go about it). The piano keys were simple
enough, but challenging to get perfectly straight. The treble clef
was a key point in the design and where best to put it posed lots of
problems.
In the final design the bride's cousin made a music stand and some
sheet music as a cake topper so it didn't have the red poppies or the
red truffles at the bottom (personally I liked the splash of red, but
it's not for everyone).
