      Effect/Brush Strokes/Spatter, and then live trace.

      You mean you create all shadows inside Photoshop and then import them into Illustrator? Do you have a video or a tutorial illustrating this process?

      No I do it all in illustrator. Just make a solid object with a thick white stroke, rasterise it, and follow the steps above.

      do you mean the glow around the sun? it's just 3 or 4 spattered circles in different colours stacked on top of each other.
