    It's An Ostrich!

Taken on the Warbuton Bike Trail In Victoria, Australia. The trail follows the course of a railway line that existed from 1901 till its closure in 1964. It runs for 40 km through bush and farm land between Lilydale and Warbuton in the Yarra Valley near Melbourne.

I thought the Ostrich had the largest brain out of all the birds. Still, I hate them; they are evil, evil birds. I don't like the way he's looking at me - I'm sure he's going to try and peck my eyes out...

Saying that, it's a lovely shot, well composed. I wouldn't be getting that close though!

: i've no idea. being an aussie we mostly have emu's this ostrich was at a farm with lots of emus, but i still don't know much about either animals. i just took a nice shot! lol. one thing i do know is that ostriches have wings (we saw them, they're giant!) and emu's don't. there now you've learned something today.

Does anyone know if ostriches spit? I would like to know aswell!

: i wasn't that close, and there was a fence between us! why do you hate ostriches so much? just wondering

great - must have been a cooperative bird - or do you have a way to make it stay still?
