Eibar Coa outside the jockey room at Saratoga - 2005

as if he was a Maxfield Parrish sunset. this is a sort of inneffective attempt. it has all the things I like, but I was not clicking with him at that time. another time that day I got a really great shot of him... I've learned that some jockeys shave the hair off of their bodies. I guess that's a weight issue, but I suspect it's more like a cultural thing among the latin jockeys. I think Eibar is really beautiful, I wish I could get more beautiful pictures of him, but it's really hard to know what's going on. By now most of the NY jockeys know me - the ones I like to shoot the most anyway... I can't figure out if this is a great picture, but I consider it sexy and i wish the promotion of jockeys would follow that lead alittle more.

what they do is all about pacing and the sensations from the horse about how much ride they have. you can tell by the way the gait changes... and other things. at the speed crucial judgements have to be made, around huge metal gates, on the tracks... I love thinking about all the things they'd see and sense.

I can't think of more beautiful lighting than I've seen shooting at race tracks. I love the way the subject matter shows it off. the people, the horses, the trees, the fans... even at Aqueduct I feel that.

that's uhmmm...really a great portrait, maybe edit out that side figure or something, beef up the mid tones? I'm not sure, but you SHOULD play with this just a little, i sense a masterpiece, i'm a pro at photoshop, i can do whatever you need or do it here and tell you what I did

thanks jeanneg - I wish I wasn't so ambivalent about this shot...

exitor, well, I'd really be interested to see what you'd do with this anyway... I have to say I like the guy on the side though because it shows scale... I fussed with it alittle last night... but this still just looked as good... maybe I just gotta paint it hahah.
      really, what would you do?

      jonathanHodd - it's special.

cosygreeneyes - thanks! I'm sold on the creaminess... it's what is really appealing about the picture i think... in the end.

Incredibly good looking guy, but can be very hard to read. never know what's going on in his head. could have been 'ok, look good for the camera' or, 'what's this chick with the camera want NOW?' with eibar, you never know, but hope it's the former, not the latter.

Yum Yum! A great example of a man, I will never turn the man down when he calls looking for fun. He made Florida so much fun this winter and cannot wait for him to get back. This man knows how to work every angle and NEVER lets you down. Looks like I am not alone in my thoughts...lol

you might do yourself a HUGE favor by turning him down. i adore him, BUT!!! not crazy about the whole girlfriend/fiance thing. any wonders why marriage #1 didn't work out? ;-)

me personally. I would agree with that. I'm surprised you don't hear more about him and his adventures.
