Playing with shadows on the wall of the roof terrace atop of my liitle old town house in Competa, Calle San Antonio in the early evening(in spain) Although it was quite orange , i tightened up the levels of this image in photoshop and also added the little ole' 'rock star' light from the top corner!! ... ..... Had too!

Patrick.T, glipto29, nailbender, trudi_, and 39 other people added this photo to their favorites.

no no no, you've misinterpretted what I'm saying! I have no problem with the physique -- but when I first looked at the image, I actually thought it was just a trick of the way the shadows lined up -- and there's nothing about the photo itself to clear up that confusion. the tags make it clear, but like i said, in a gallery, you wouldn't have the tags to speak for the image. I actually like the image very much, but because my eye had this confusion as to what I was looking at, i voted to delete.

I really like the way that the arm is present and ambiguous. It's sort of like the way that Disability Rights looks at disability from a social model- that society itself makes physical differences into inability through structure and attitudes. But here, the shorter arm is both interesting in its lack of definitiveness, and points out how different bodies can be as beautiful/artistic as typical ones, at the same time challenging the norms of what it means to be a "superstar." And yet, the viewer is wondering whether or not the subject is actually disabled- and if lucky, comes to the realization that it doesn't matter as much as people think it should.

Has a definite look and feel of a painting, the way the shadow is distorted and angled make it seem very "non-human" - a truly artistic photo.

I love the rockstar light and pose. And I can't speak of the depth of meaning any better than Transguyjay.
Congrats on getting it in the Safe and thanks for sharing; it's beautiful : )
