Spectacle of Mama Tungurahua
Ecuador's Volcan Tungurahua began erupting on the afternoon of Nov. 27, but was shrouded in cloud for that first evening. Tonight, however, (Nov. 28) was a different story. Mama Tungurahua put on a spectacular show for us.

Definitely one of my favorite images as seen on Flickr in a long time. The intricate details and contrast of red and his black really bring the three-dimensional qualities to this image forward. a great job.

I hope everyone in Baños will be ok. we were there a couple of years ago, Tungurahua was making noises already then, you could see lava at night, and everyone was quite worried that the town would have to be evacuated again and their businesses would suffer because of that.
great shot, despite all the danger the sight promises.

Everything is business as usual in Banos....The town itself is very secure, but it can get some ashfall. The locals - particularly have embraced the volcano and although it scares some tourists away, there are many more who come here just to see Tungurahua roar.
