      fun sampling of American types. that sun, seen thru the smoke of the burning ship, is a nice touch.

      I've always loved this piece by Rockwell. Notice that the dad at top has the same features as his ancestors throughout the painting. Love that. And I find it fascinating that the mom & dad are very distantly related.

      I worked at Curtis Publishing for several years and got to see some of the original SEP cover art up close... that of Rockwell & Leyendecker in particular. Pretty amazing, and I learned quite a bit.

      One of my fave Rockwell pieces. I saw the exhibition in DC of Lucas and Spielberg's collection and was surprised at how large a format he worked. The size of the canvases made them absolutely breathtaking in their details..
