The Toddington Steam Railway runs a really fun service for kids at Christmas that takes its patrons a few miles down the track on a stunningly restored steam train to Winchcombe, entertainment along the way being provided by joke-telling elves (ok, men in elf suits). At the other end, its tea and mince pies for the parents and a trip to see Santa and a gift for the little ones, before the short return trip home. Really atmospheric and an excellent 2 or 3 hours out. And for once, only a short wait to see the big man in red.... :-)
