Meanwhile, hundreds of monks took part in a relay hunger strike that began from April 2, to support the non-violent struggle of Dalai Lama. Tibetan men and women took part in a candle light vigil against the arrival of the Olympic torch.

Tibetan Women's Association vice-president Tenzin Wanymo, said that the truth behind the Tibetan struggles has drawn global attention and she hoped that the non-violent movement for independent Tibet would be a success.
