Building a New Playground Summer 2008
|
Our students were tired of having recess in an old parking lot, so they began to speak up. As part of a class writing assignment, one student’s letter made its way to North Carolina and convinced Lowe’s Home Improvement to fund a new outdoor play space.
This photo collection explores the innovative landscape for learning our students, staff, parents and community members have created. Help us celebrate the power of literacy to make our voices heard.
The Learning Community is Rhode Island’s highest poverty High Performing school, serving children and families from Central Falls, Providence and Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
