The Devil Made Me Do It

The Devil Made Me Do It

Bad ankle or not, with the rain we FINALLY got this weekend, you know I had to get out to a waterfall. I could not go hiking though, so it had to be a roadside waterfall. Devil's Falls in Colfax was the answer. I had to cross the creek though, to get the only good composition. That was a little tricky with only one ankle. Anyway, I managed it without incident.

On The Sideline

On The Sideline

This is another view of Pit River Falls, back from Christmas Eve. I have not been out shooting or hiking. My ankle is still hurting badly from this hike down to Pit River Falls. It is not broken, but it has not gotten any better. This is bad bad bad, especially as waterfall season is going to be starting soon here in California. We have gotten essentially zero precipitation thus far, but it is starting tonight. Finally! Somehow, I have to figure out how to get out waterfallin'.

Surprise Sunset

Surprise Sunset

After work last night, I took a little hike down to the Old Salmon Falls bridge at Folsom Lake. It did not seem that it would be much of a sunset and I almost left my tripod in the car, but the sky just kept getting redder and redder. I just had to take a photo. :)

It's All Twisted

It's All Twisted

From Christmas Eve, this is Pit River Falls near Burney, about 30 ft. high. I had a rather interesting outing this day, including twisting my ankle badly on the way down the mountain to get to this waterfall. I survived the hike, and although Christmas Day saw me in much pain, I was out hiking again on Tuesday. Read more about it on my blog.

How Close Do You Dare To Go?

How Close Do You Dare To Go?

Sitting on a rock at the brink of an exciting 30 ft. high twisting waterfall at the Emerald Pools, South Yuba River. It was a thrilling place to be!
