Tied Together.
I don't know why, but when I went for a hike the other day, all of these trees were tied together with blue tubing. I think it is some sort of irrigation, chemical or fertilizing system? Either way, it made for a cool effect.
I found out from a friend that this tubing is for a rather large maple syrup tapping operation. I am officially a terrible New Englander for not knowing this, but YUM!
