Looks like the oil spill floated beyond the boom at Nine Mile Run and
seeped into the Monongahela River. The link below is to the
Post-Gazette which reported that the DEP and city crews had contained
the spill.

These same pp booms presently being used in the US oil spill are useless and only collect max 40% oil absorption they also take in water and highly flammable . The best booms and pads for this oil clean up are the Adsorbun a patented German technology that is used all around the world. Except the USA of course...why are we the last to always figure it out?
