Day 11/366.....An apple a day

Day 11/366.....An apple a day by LDCross.
Jan 11 011/366

Is it me, or does this seem a little dark? Maybe it's the angle of my laptop monitor.....Anyway, I'm still playing around with exposure. I'm trying to give you a new perspective on a common item. Hope I hit the mark!

EDITED: Thanks, Everyone! This one made Explore!

It's not dark on my monitor. Please continue to "play around" with your exposure, it is very inspirational and enjoyable to see the end results! I love the star shape in the sliced apple! You managed to capture the glistening juices! Well done!

Gorgeous star shape and texture. The light issue may be because the item is backlit to some extent...if you don't want the light directly on the object, you could try using a reflector made from tin foil. Lovely image tho :)

This turned out so wonderful!! I stared at it for awhile, loving the lighting, the slight blurriness of the apple in the background, and your placement of the apples. And then the cut apple - I've never seen an apple cut that way, definitely, so it's a really cool new perspective - it makes the apple seem more like an exotic fruit! And then, I spent time (and still am!) wondering how you got such a perfect cut and right in the perfect center of the seeds!! So, in conclusion, your photo drew me in and made me study and admire many parts of it and made me think, all really good things!!! It's wonderful!!

I think this lovely image would benefit from some light back to the surface of the cut edge - it make the juiciness more lush - give it a go!!

Thanks to you all for your comments, invites, FAVES and recommendations!

Judy Dean - I totally agree with you that I need more light on this. I'm just learning, but I can definitely see how this picture would benefit from more light.

Rebecca Whitney - I totally lucked out when cutting the apple! I was prepared to make several cuts, but I hit it on the first one!
