Lcriding - Away for a couple of weeks' photostream

I do however, wish all my Flickr friends a wonderful festive season and a rewarding year in 2012!

I spotted this young Cockatoo snoozing just outside our dining room window, while the rest of the family looked for food.

These were taken a while ago and I was hoping to get better photos but on the rare occasion it visits our garden, I haven't had the camera handy.

We've never seen a Kingfisher in our garden before and managed to get this one blurry shot before it flew away. I've been waiting for another visit to get a better shot but so far it hasn't happened. I'm guessing that it's the Forest Kingfisher although we are on the edge of it's range.

One foggy morning I heard the unmistakeable call of a Corella in our garden. As they don't visit our area very often I rushed outside with the camera - only to see this strange bird! I'm guessing it's a hybrid of a Galah and a Corella.

The colour was a peachy grey which doesn't really show here because of the foggy morning and my foggy camera skills. The bird hung around for a few hours and I haven't seen or heard it since.
