Hi slpeery, the hook is a 3.5 millimeters crochet hook and the kind of yarn I used is 100% peruvian cotton thread, the rustic one. I can't be more specific about the names of the colors or a branch for the thread because here where I live, in Peru, there are some yarns you can buy and they come with no name or labels and this is one of those cases. I'm sorry I can't help you with that but it is an easy and versatile stitch that you can adapt to any hook size or thread. I hope you can try it because it looks lovely!!!
