Huge live oak trees believed to be over 300 years old form a canopy a quarter of a mile along the drive that leads up to Oak Alley Plantation a classic Greek Revival style antebellum plantation. The huge, magnificent grounds and live oaks dwarf the 2 visitors at the end of the drive. The plantation is located between New Orleans and Baton Rouge on the Mississippi River and is worth the trip from New Orleans to visit. This is one of the Deep South sites at her very best.
