The morning sun illuminates the countryside near Geraldine, Montana.
The quality of light here in eastern Montana is almost always superb...when the sun is shining that is.
On any given morning the horizontal rays of the sun will toss an eerie glow all around you. The morning sun Geraldine, for reasons I'm not quite sure, seems to be even more spectacular. Perhaps it is the way the dust from the unusually active gravel roads diffuses the rays of light. Maybe it is because nearby Square Butte acts as one giant reflector.
I don't know.
But what I do know is that there is seldom an opportunity when driving through Geraldine early in the morning that I don't find the sun's light absolutely breathtaking.
