Does this look like a little girl dying of cancer? Or does this maybe look like another Miracle Girl? You can hardly tell she had another surgery today.
It has been a very long and stressful day, but despite all the bad odds I wrote about yesterday, Angie's chest X-ray was clear... as was her ultrasound, except for some tiny questionable spots on her spleen that disappeared when she was relaxed with the pre-anesthesia meds. All very, very good news!!!
Her doc went ahead and removed a bit more tissue around the site of the melanoma to increase the margins and lessen the chances of it returning in the same place. The tissue samples and samples from her spleen will be sent to the pathologist to see if there are any microscopic traces. So we're not completely out of the danger zone until we get the pathology report, but things are looking so much better than they have been for the past few days. Wish I had a tail to wag along with Angie.
We're sticking with our new name -- The Miracle Menagerie!
Huge thanks and hugs from all of us.
