In my thinking space
Sitting in my thinking space reflecting on my old work, seeing how I can move forward.
It has been an interesting journey since I started showing my work here on flickr. This is where my journey began; this is where most of my maturing through photography happened. I am grateful for the existence of this website.
I am excited to have people interested in my artwork that since 2006 I have started printing limited editions of my work, which are being purchased nationally and internationally. I have had so many commission jobs since starting; my biggest to date is the 3 pieces entitled ilham 1, ilham 2, ilham 3 I did for the Burj Dubai project which I am quite proud of.
Some more projects coming, I will tell you about them as they happen, for now I am thinking of new ways to create and tell stories through imagery. Thank you to all who have inspired me on flickr.

painting stage 5
I took my time with this painting. It was not intended for any project. I just did it for the pleasure of painting, just to keep my inspiration going and my hand warm: as a few friends would say.
This stage is the stage where the painting looks more like the original photograph. The face still needs a few more layers to make it look right. The background will change completely though to make it a bit more exciting. I'm taking my time with it though, so bear with me until I finish it.
for those who are interested in painting competitons the BP Portrait Award is open for entries at the moment. First prize is 25,000 pounds.
(I'm too chicken to enter though)

ilham - (meaning Inspiration)
Standing, waiting, observing the development occurring; realizing that it is booming right at our doorstep we welcome it but are careful of what it could bring. In our gardens we are secure surrounded by all that we love. Life is a journey. It is truly what we make of it.

This is one of 3 commissioned pieces I am creating for the Burj Dubai. Every artist is given a floor and on that floor an artwork must be created, and in one of the artworks the number of the floor must be within it this is that piece. I was given floor number 77. The writing on the crossroad sign says: "inspiration" and "the beginning". I decided to create a dreamscape that reflected my feelings towards the fast development happening in my country.
This is my 4rth commissioned job to date.
