Google Street View is a feature of Google Maps and Google Earth that provides 360° panoramic street-level views and allows users to view parts of selected cities and their surrounding metropolitan areas at ground level. When it was launched on May 25, 2007, only five cities were included. It has since expanded to more than 40 U.S. cities, and includes the suburbs of many, and in some cases, other nearby cities.
Google Street View displays photos that were previously taken by a camera mounted on an automobile, and can be navigated using either the arrow keys on the keyboard or by using the mouse to click on arrows displayed on the screen. Using these devices, the photos can be viewed in different sizes, from any direction, and from a variety of angles. Lines that are displayed along the street that is shown indicate the direction followed by that street.

I have a friend who was working in his yard when one of these drove by, so if you look at his street and go by his house, you see him with his butt hanging out at the camera. Had to laugh at that one.

What about privacy, photographies of people's face, car licence plate and other annoying forms of intrusion into individuals' life? Everything-everybody-seen-at-any-place-art any-time? There should be some legal regulations of such major corporations take-over of our neighbourhoods.

Whoa! Great find, I was always curious what these looked like...not what I expected at all.

actually those cars have spanish license plates!, so they are being prepped for scanning spain after having scanned amsterdam and rotterdam???

i guess google is HQ'ing their EU fleet in a'dam... for spain, NL, germany, italy and GB...???

the spanish "GCV" plates have been spotted in spain and france.

you can check the google street view car pool, just search for GCV: www.flickr.com/groups/616736@N20/

I guess thats why they blur out the faces and license plates there fella.Mabey next time you take a picture in public you should ask the people in the background permission so you dont invase on their privacy..
