La Cueva Ventana 1
My first photo at La Cueva Ventana (The Window Cave). You walk through a pitch-black cave with the only light being your flashlight. Then you turn a corner and see this. The processing isn't HDR, but I adjusted the highlights, midtones, and shadows separately in groups. As I was processing it, it reminded me of the Flemish painter, Pieter Bruegel the Elder. HIs paintings showed the life of common people in the foreground and often a deep landscape flowing into the background. I don't think I was conscious of the similarity of this capture when I snapped the shutter. But I've always loved those paintings, so they must have been somewhere in my mind as I composed this photo.

Cave Entrance
Dawn is pointing to an entrance to an anteroom to the cave. The actual entrance to La Cueva Ventana is farther up the trail and around a bend.
