Spent the afternoon working in the South Waterfront Community garden (the garden I manage). We have new sugar pea pods on our pea plants. I also watched my only female mason bee float in and out of her tubes and it made me realize how amazing nature is. I can't believe she's busily laying eggs and will be dead by June. Makes me so sad, but hopeful for the new generation. :) We don't think about how important bees are... yet they are such fascinating and amazing creatures (they are pretty harmless, a gardeners helper- without them I wouldn't be able to enjoy this pea pod).
