I feel like summer got away from me... what with all the pickling and the camping trips and visitors and doing my internship. I've been archiving my summer photos and came across this one, which is at Kruger's Farm out on Sauvie Island. G and I went out there to pick up 60 lbs of pickling cucumbers to make dill and bread&butter pickles to last us through next year. It was such a warm day... its gotten to be rather cold here (makes me miss the warm summer sun on my skin).

I've missed you all! I hope you've been well. :)

I've tried to keep up with my 365 this summer, but somehow the days have escaped me... my camera going unused for days until I miss it and realize its time to capture something, ANYTHING. THIS MOMENT was too PERFECT to pass up. The perfect description of summer... hammocks, pretty light, warmth, dirty and naked feet. The air tingled with excitement- the heat and the feel of the breeze picking up the dust and seeds- which glowed in the sunlight. The atmosphere felt so magical. All words that describe my home away from home- my grandmother's house. I hope you've all had lovely summers- I hope to catchup soon (as masters school always me)! :D

This is the first time in my life (by myself) that I've made pastry dough (G helped with cutting the cold butter into the dough). Oh the possibilities! Can you just feel the excitement!! This ball is destined to hold nectarines, peaches and blackberries in a crusty open faced pastry called a galette. As soon as I make it, I will post pictures of the end result in the coming days :) I wish you all a wonderfully lovely weekend!

I was so busy today the hours are all blurred together. Its nice to sometimes look at the world from a different vantage point- give you new meaning. This evening G finally had to yell at me to stop doing things and relax. Relax? What is that? I thought this photo was appropriate- plus have you ever tried to take a good photo and just couldn't? Yup. It's been one of those days.

I double posted tonight- I never do that; I needed to catch up so tomorrow will be a fresh start. I've felt so caught up in this project of recent... I keep telling myself yes, take good photos, but also take bad ones... thats life. Don't be afraid to post because you're afraid of what others will think. But I need to remember that at the end of the day if I'm the only one who likes the photo thats all that matters. (I apparently need to keep telling myself that.) (I have my moments.)

Saturday was full of errand running followed up with an evening of reading. I just love reading in the evening sunlight. This book is Eragon, part of the Inheritance Trilogy. Apparently I have a thing for books that have dragons in them ;)

Are you reading anything good?
