Letterwriting

Seal character, has no meaning. Or more accurately, it means [insert name]'s Seal. Artist added for decorative effect.
I didn't know you were a Seal fan.

Letterwriting by LarimdaME.
When I write letters, I usually write a draft, then a final with a fountain pen. And then I sign-stamp it too for good measure.

Newell - Yeah, I'm gonna have to look those up again. I'm not sure what the applied Chinese meanings are.

Parl - Thanks, but I really should have widened the DOF a little more and used a tripod. Just a late night inspirational thing.

Thanks for the kind comments all, and to those who fail to reply to my time-consuming missives: You suck.

Wow, someone who writes actual letters on real paper with an analog writing instrument. Cool. Now if only my handwriting was legible, I'd actually consider doing that.

The characters are of course, back to front. In the picture as it is, the top left character is first, then the one below it, then the one in the top right, and the final one in the bottom right. The characters, so far as I can make out is 韓真敦印 in that order. The final character means 'seal/chop' , the first three characters form a name, with the surname 韓 appearing first, and the person's given name "真敦". In Chinese this would be romanised Han ZhenDun. Zhen means 'true, real' and Dun means 'kind hearted' (according to CEDICT). Han can be used to represent 'Korea' in one of it's uses, which is historical, but the likelihood of the chop inidicating it was korean is small, unless there are other non-Chinese characters there which make it explicitly korean (hangul for instance). Otherwise, its safe to assume it is a chop for someone with the name 韓真敦, and this person, could be Chinese, or korean, as Koreans also use "hanja" their equivalent of Chinese "hanzi" or Japanese 'kanji' in their names.

Nice Parker 75, great to write with. I try to write at least a letter a week, by hand and I keep all my pens inked. I like the sign stamp too.

The battle between digital and analog spills over to the journaling field. While I produce more content and in greater accuracy with the computer, I find that writing long hand (longhand?) is more therapeutic and aesthetically (visual) pleasing. To this day it's a struggle to decide which medium deserves my limited time.
